 Because there are usually such a variety of photo opportunities and subjects, travelling can challenge photographic skills more than any other pastime.

There are many considerations, such as:

• What equipment to take - too muchcan be as much a problem as too little.
• Timing - climatic conditions, as well as events, provide different opportunities in different places at different times (e.g. shadows that can be difficult to work with may be more of a problem at certain times of year or day).
• Legal considerations - laws can vary. In some places you may need official permission before you can take photographs.

This is a course for anyone planning a special holiday, and during the eight lessons you will be shown how to achieve a quality photographic record of your trip. You will learn techniques needed for photographing landscapes, streetscapes, wildlife, people, and lots more.

COURSE AIMS

In this course you will learn how to:

• Identify the scope of travel photography, as well as the resources required to take travel photos,
• Explain how you can improve your capabilities to take travel photographs.
• Apply camera techniques - including framing, positioning, timing and borrowed landscapes - to create various effects.
• Photograph natural objects to make best use of their texture, or even give them human qualities.
• Photograph streetscapes to create different moods or capture elements of your choice.
• Photograph indoor scenes, making best use of available and artificial lighting.
• Create a series of travel photographs that contain a single common feature that differentiates them from other photographs and, in doing so, provide an indication that they have been taken by the same person.
